an inkboat day, by Moshe Cohen

sf. Jun1. 2015

as sun sinks into fog
traffic slows to a whirl
memories ponder yesterday’s show
the meaning of familial audience
for an illustrious event
fog drenched cypresses
metal hammer sounds
slow human crossings
high above ridge
over alleyway sounds
running seeking looking
feeling ocean near
then there
then looking
not seeing
running singing
banging metal
joyous beings
laughing
a ritual
drawing feelings
walking ceremony
to the many
who do you honor
chalkboard replies
mother
mom and dad
bountiful harvest

set for a feast
we eat
benches
that were carried.
community gathers
celebrates.
what a show.
